The One + Only

Ever though there is only one - THE ONE. Mr Right, one perfect girl.
Yes? Well, you're wrong. Very wrong. Miles off. It is, in fact, the
second most ridiculous notion I ever heard. First most ridiculous thing
I ever heard was something I overheard (i.e eavesdropping) while
waiting for a bus:

"You know," the girl said, "I don't reackon there's like one perfect,
like, Mr Right. I reckon there's probably, like, eight or nine."

Yep. Eight or nine - in the entire world. You can have one in each
continent if you like. But then one little problem is that the odds of
finding one of those eight or nine people in say&;#8230; a couple of
billion is well&;#8230; one a billion? Not likely. Major flaw though
is thus: How can "eight or nine" people all be perfect unless they are
all the same? Huh? Doesn't work.

Secondly major flaw in the preposterous "made for each other" theory:
There are more women than there are men. 51\% of the world is female
and 49\% male which when you consider the many, many people round the
world is a pretty big difference. Next there are more gay men than
there are gay women so that chisels off some more eligible guys. And
then, just in case the ratio wasn't wonky enough already, there are
more male-to-female transsexuals than there are the other way
round.

So basically, welcome to the end of the day: there are loads of poor,
old single women with nothing but a mouldy cat. No Mr Right. No "the
ONE". Just one stinky, fat Tiddles - who may not like drinking beer
while watching rugby but have you ever seen a cat change a fuse or fix
the tumble dryer.
