The winter tide rolls in
through the sea mist
she seems to come so early now,

or is it just me?

She breaks through into December
and echoes a seasons joy
I have heard so many times before

She rolls onto the shore
and pauses for a while
then drags a little more
away from me

I turn my back to the wind
but she still rolls in
my name wails in her ebb

and the beach town looks so far away now

or is it just me?
