Picasso Loved His Models - A Sonnet
Look on in wonder before I begin.
The curve of her spine, touched by the divine,
Original sin in her flawless skin.
Do I dare to sketch this form so sublime?
Yes I see the smiles that go on for miles,
Caught in the ringlets that fall on her face.
An upwards glance, of impeccable style,
That peeps through her fringe of delicate lace.
Words not said, but the tilt of her shoulder,
Shouts loud: 'be bolder, have none of that guilt.
Now, while I'm young, don't let me grow older -
Pick up your brush as I lay on this quilt.'
I paint her resplendent - beauty and grace.
A Goddess among her own sainted race.
