Resplendant September Bride

Posing on the marble bench beneath the spreading oaks, sits the
virgin bride,
resplendant in her morning's fertile lace and cultivated pearls
Her smile is over-toned with urgent beauty, September clarified
Benevolent in splendor, she awaits her coming groom
I wonder if she loves him as much as I loved you
You carved my unaccustomed memories with your helter-skelter
patterns
awestruck altered dream-state, mosaic criss-cross scars
Wildcat metal, sunset tiles yielding long-range gloom, aftertastes of
Saturn
Endangered two-step glide damns my wound-inflicted heart
I question if she loves him half as much as I loved you
Your mercurial silver twilight left worm-hole souvenirs, evening's
melting point
Stalactite and stalagmite, dark horse figure-phantoms
Reflective image-shadows wove a glowing burnt-sienna needlepoint
Thunderbolts hurled hissing steel, phosphorescent astral voids
I ponder if her love for him, rivals what I felt for you
Her regal head, positioned high, veiled esteem in surface rays
Jupiter illuminates her golden wedding bands, diamond's sparkling
glass
Contemplating vivid shades of midnight, September's lonely days
I sigh, then cast my eyes away from the echo of perfected
pictures
I wonder if she loves him as much as I loved you
