Run away coolness

Really, are you avoiding me?
Before I thought I wasn't too bad,
Just your average middle class,
And now I try to make the effort,
I'm falling way too fast.
I try to look cool and get,
The new jeans of the block,
But then I spill Ribena on them,
And I'm the local laughing stock.
I used to think you were average,
Just your normal class guy,
But now I've paid attention,
You avoid me and no prizes for why,
My mum said to just be myself,
My dad said to just do my best,
But my best doesn't compete with,
The average coolness of the rest,
I know you think I am a fool,
And I know you think you are so cool,
But step back and relax,
Take a long look at,
Me and see if I'm so bad.
