SAT ON A DOORSTEP
Sat on a doorstep, don't know what city
Dawn is arriving, it's kind'a pretty
Last night's so far away, already history
But explanation still, remains a mystery
Sat on a doorstep, awaiting detection
Dawn is arriving, without direction
Where do I go from here? I really just don't know
You were that part of me, the part I can't lt go
CHORUS
Sat on a doorstep; sun says "good morning."
Sat on a doorstep; happened no warning
I'm free and left to sing, the songs in life I choose
Birds sing along; but they are useless at the blues
Sat on a doorstep, I'm just reflecting
Heartbeats inside me, are somehow detecting
That you were the purest love, my heart will ever know
And as I kiss this dawn, the pain will surely flow
Sat on a doorstep, don't know what city
Unshaven and tearful, ain't it a pity?
If I stand up, then which, direction should I choose?
If I stay down maybe, I'll teach these guys the blues
