Tablet World
I slowly get out of bed
Meander to the door
Then, at a snails pace
Amble down the stairs
As I've done so many times before
I shuffle to the toilet
Sit upon my throne
Staring at the wooden door
In my little room
Alone
When I'm done
I try to stand
It takes me quite a while
Time to make a cup of tea
I pretend to smile
As the kettle boils
I line up all the pills
Red one, white one, yellow one
One colour for one ill
Then, slowly, I return upstairs
Turn my computer on
Swallow all my 'little friends'
Until they are all gone
Gradually, they start to work
My vision starts to clear
The little pills kill all the thrills
But my pains all disappear
My thoughts implode
My feelings cease
The world I knew fades fast
Life now seems so far away
I dwell upon the past
I now sit staring at the wall
My life just wastes away
Sitting in my tablet world
So begins another day
