U: Stuck in a lecture theatre with Utilitarianism

Thoughts carved mindlessly onto a wooden strip,
Tired faces stare gormlessly ahead.
Eyes glazed.
Visions of another world.
A better world.
Man stands at the front teaching himself,
The front row talks to him,
The back to each other.
Warm musty air circulates around the stuffy room.
My mind is drifting.
White stallions racing on a golden beach?
Bats flittering noisily in a dark cave!
Notes begin passing.
Always missing me out.
Nuclear bombs?and pigeons.
Technology is wrong!
Uninvention?
Moral values embedded in a scattering of knowledge
"The greatest happiness fro the greatest number"
Is that what it is?
Is that what we want?
Penguins huddled closely together
Clouds charging above
Crashing, flashing.
Sorry
Wondering mind again!
Bright green "exit" sign flashes like the clouds in my mind
Is money everything?
Do material possessions make us happy?
"Portable Property"
The most important thing is to be happy
Superficial
How noble
"Hard times"
That's life
For me
And you?
Or utilitarian's
"Have you lost your soul?"
You may think this poem has no purpose,
Except to teach you utilitarianism
Which I'm not
Why should it have a point?
It's my poem
Not J.S Mill's.
Just me stuck here in a lecture theatre
With utilitarianism,.
Why would anyone what to be this
Unnecessary suffering
Happiness,
Purple nails,
Improve sanitation.
"She's going crazy, crazy I tell you!"
Send the doctor,
No it's just the Utilitarianism.
Stuck with me in the lecture theatre.
What is better than happiness?
I ask you then?
