Might have walked
upside-
down
but always knew the grass would break your fall
Repaid it in green paint,
to make bricks onto meadows
of pig-lingo
Learned Japanese,
made a shrine to Sid -
sneers by candle-light.
Didn't last long as a waiter
and left your things on The Parade
until the bus came.
Felt like Basquiat -
a child, but stretched
with bags full of art
and a joy of learning
making Franglais big and clever
and all in
all
a good subject for a poem.
