Wedding Bliss

Across the banks I did spy,
Lush dewy fields of planted rye.
I crossed a track looking at the sky,
Watching dragonflies hum gracefully by.
People distant, come and go,
I studied where the heather blows.
Trees themselves start to quiver,
The cold sets in to make me shiver.
Stream flows along forever,
Joining into the expanse of the river.
Factories plume dirty towers,
I sniff the scent of fragrant flowers.
A spider weaves her thread by day,
Glistening with dewy colours gay.
Taking in the changing weather,
Shoes squeak with damp leather.
I called out to my love in white,
She responded eyes sapphire bright.
Stood close to the frothy tide,
She entwines her arm around my side.
She was an angel sent from space,
Such a pretty smile on a lovely face.
My wife to be in a few days time,
Together both locked in poetic rhyme.
