What Have You Done To Me

You once made mention
To put my life in a new direction.
You ask "What could that have been?"
You said, "You're not going out in public
Looking like that with me!"

I was shocked, and maybe
briefly hurt.
But I took off that large
Flowered obnoxious shirt.

That was just the beginning
Of the change in my being.
For you brought out a whole
New person for the world to behold.

At times I may have
Gone dragging my heels.
But in the end it was
My heart that was healed.

So the changes you have
Helped bring about in me
Are all for the best
As anyone can see.

There's only one thing to said
About what you have done to me

To be the best that I can be!
