The Taste of Magnolia
In the summer, when we children tired of throwing chinaberries and
picking honeysuckle, we dared each other to try a magnolia leaf.
My wife understands this, but does not recall Adam-12, and swears that
Reed and Malloy is the name brand on a pair of her pumps.
Halleluia, I Love Her So
Once, when I was fatter, I got a cut inside my navel. It was slow to
heal, and it smelled rotten for a long while. My wife was sure
it was infected; I wasn't as sure. She still loved me, and eventually
it healed.
I wish I could make that a verse in an old song that Ray Charles used
to sing, so I could sing it to her at our 50th anniversary party
