Wisdom Sucks

It is the season of my discontent.
When did I become this age?
Oh how I do so resent,
getting closer to the last page.
My youth gone, mistakes made
Can't go back and do over,
Been awhile since I've been laid
Or rested naked in wild clover.
Of Husbands, I've had two
One stupid, one drank.
That should have been my clue,
That God enjoys a good prank.
Youth is wasted on the young.
They never give much thought,
Interested more in having fun.
When it's wisdom they should have sought.
Tough, that wisdom comes with age,
When it's needed at sixteen.
Must go through the hormonal rage,
And all the crap in between.
Why does it need to take so long?
Wisdom is such a long time coming.
And youth is a long time gone.
Just the thought is mind numbing.
Shouldn't be the other way,
With wisdom first, then fun?
Coming in the light of day,
Rather than with the setting sun.
