The Animal Cracker's and Dipsy Dave
Autobiographical note - Dipsy Dave ( not his real name of course )
lived below me in my low-rise flat, at the sink-estate where I lived.
He'd spent most of his life in jail and that's where I presume he is
now.
He recently orchestrated 'doing over' my flat and this involved
stealing yet another of my old lap-tops a drum machine and acoustic
guitar. However, like most of his schemes it was no doubt devised in an
inebriated stupor and hence, I heard Dave and the crackers the next
morning mouthing inane doggerel screams as CID kicked down the door of
his pit.
I bear the poor sot no malice though as in fairness we all have
addictions to feed, but here is a little story I found on the recovered
386 Lap-top, I suppose if I decide to finish it now the ending and
middle parts will have written themselves in the light of what
happened!
Intro to 'Animal Crackers and Dipsy Dave'
Little Davey Wainwright, or 'Dipsy Dave' as they call him is a sot.
That's right he's a drunk, a bum, a dipso, a booze hound, an
alco-frolick, an inebriate, a twilight dancer, barfly, a piss-artist
extrodianoire, master of the soporific arts.
His place, or pit is always a real state. Fag-butts swim in empty cans,
reeking reeks, reek from reeks before and unidenty stains paint his
walls and decorate the furnishings. Always drunk is how you'll find
him, whether he's in the process of getting even drunker, recovering
from drinking himself into recovery, sleeping off the drunk from the
drunk before or one of the days he's just having a little drink as he
puts it himself. I'll take you along to meet him if you like, but
you've got to stand the pace, try to operate on the same plane if you
see what I mean. So if you're slurring and a swaying, eyes a little red
and dazed then come along and we'll go down Dave's. If you're really
lucky we might even meet the Animal Crackers to boot while we're there.
So drink up, get it down you - that's good!
To be continued.
