Pandora

"Just a little peek!" she whispered.
And so she took a look
She lifted the lid of the golden box
And suddenly her hands shook

She knew that this was forbidden
And now she found out why
Terrible power came out from that box
Enough to make a man die

Havoc was wreaked upon the world
Disease, famine, and war
"What have I done?" Pandora screamed, anguished
As she fell onto the floor

They came in the form of serpents
But under them a prize
Who had the name "Hope", to comfort mankind
Through sorrow, to dry their eyes.
