The Likes Of You

I’ll tell the world about someone like you, the one the poets call their muse, but you are not a myth lest they be confused.
Do you not sacrifice your essence to build a world my feminine kind may call their home?
I’d rave to the mountains about someone like you, who dissolves my troubles as if you sang the blues.
Are you not the one ordained to shield my innocence from a cruel world set up against me?
I shall cry to the heavens about someone like you, who loves me like the earth loves the sun even when it hurts to.
Have I not brought you to your knees with my shortcomings like the heat does to a man in the desert?
I hope to tell my kin about someone like you, how your hands have healed my mind, body, and soul.
For are you not the one my heart belongs to?
