My Husband's Son

He holds his father’s restored innocence that hibernated from years of masculine duty and societal expectation.
He will teach his son the discipline of prayer and the stoicism of logic
Taught that men show love through protection, self-sacrifice, and the willingness to exchange peace with compromise.
He admires his father more than any superhero or king, as his achievements and mistakes exceed the myths
A childish wonder lurks behind his eyes, oblivious to the harsh world he calls his home.
He will understand that bravery is a myth and true courage comes from negotiating with fear.
For my husband is the man who molds the boy, and in turn, the boy maintains the cycle for generations to come.
