A Siren Dressed in Angel's Clothing

I met a genie not so long ago, made one wish and thought I attracted gold
But he appealed to my desires and seduced me with an angel who possessed a presence only described by a sheer euphoric high.
I was enchanted by the enticing warmth radiating from every smile and innocent touch.
The closer I got, the more I could hear their soft embrace calling to my naïve affection-deprived soul.
They say I’m obsessed, but I’m just a mess; I've got a lot on my chest. I went in with no bulletproof vest, now my heart is in shambles.
Their harshness were bullets and I knew I was screwed when we dissected my past
Exposing the cracks of our very fragile fantasy built on a foundation of unrealistic thoughts of a non-existent future,
I knew you loved the high, made you feel free as a kite, but sadly, I was too afraid to join your flight.
So, I watched from the ground while my anxiety would whisper in my deepest thoughts, "And soon your angel will lose those wings and reveal their true form."
My desires have been manipulated by a genie who found me starving but fed me lies.
For in the end, beggars truly could not be choosers.
