LONE VIGIL
He sits there alone
His vigil each day
Listen to me, world
I've something to say
The placards around him
No word of a lie
Exclaim, in black and white
Two hundred will die.
The reasons are plain
Though ignored by us all
Truth, the first casualty
As the politicians call
Us to wage war
Our freedom to save
But the cost each day
Two hundred kids in their grave.
As the west makes a stand
Against Saddam Hussain
Oil's interest's, to protect
Little thought of the pain
The innocent suffer
With no place to hide
It's all done in our name
And our God on our side.
Children are dying
As the sanctions take hold
No food or medicines
Iraq's, out in the cold
Let's all shout together
We must find, another way
Remember the children
Two hundred a day.
