Jeans Day

Today is an I feel like
wearing jeans to work sort a day.
So, I'll gussy up my Lee's by wearing
a silk blouse, some fancy big heeled shoes,
a clunky piece of jewelry and then dab on some Chanel.
After a quick look over in the mirror I'll
head out, relaxed and foxy at
the same time.

Being smooth takes a whole lot of work.
I have acquired 50 silk shirts in the
last few years. I need only 2 more for
a years worth of jeans days.

I check out the garage sales, always
on the look out for funky broaches
and half empty perfume bottles.
Last weekend I paid $6.25 for
nearly 5 ounces of Obsession. That's
enough for 4 months of sensuous smelling.

You'd be surprised by the amount of people
who want to get rid of elephant pins.
I pick up a couple each year
look smartly republican
at business luncheons.

I have enough Christmas jewelry
that I could decorate myself as the tree,
spread my boughs and gather
gifts from adoring gentlemen.

Well, if the glue holds, and the nails dry,
I am ready to let serendipity happen.
Going to work in jeans is almost
better than staying home in flannels.
