My D I V O R C E Become Final Today

I'm a rusted lilac,
Perfumed in blooming decay.
Hell and all it's misery
Found me today.
I can't stop the raindrops
Falling down my face,
I can't hold back the skytears
saturating this place.
Crooked oaks and barnacles
obstruct my view,
easier to push them away,
than to have believed in you.
Chalk dust memories
are running down the creek,
washing away any love words
I ever dared to speak.
Don't give me any damn sunshine,
I enjoy wallowing this way.
You handed me a prickly rose
now just go away.
The Devil's Highway ain't so bad.
You get to ride it without going any place.
I get to wear hushpuppies with
my gunny sack face.
Who the hell, asked for Ivory and Lace?
I look better in solitude's grayce.
Blue just is not my color
If only I could escape all this damn water.
