UNDER A BUTTERSCOTCH MOON
Through my window your silhouette
scatters my solitude,
playing games in the images of light and dust,
as it once again caresses me
with remembrances of your touch.
I cover myself in blankets of bittersweet
and wade past the blues,
torrents of emotions
shade our love
with a spectrum of uncoupled hues.
Then when the butterscotch moon
hangs low in the sky
and the vanguards of night signal their goodbye,
I go and face the oncoming day
for last night again with you I lay..
