Slapped awake stunned back to reality
What happened while I slept?
The world grew dark
I grew weak
Evil took a foothold
Walking into my world.

Evil stood beside me
I felt it but saw no face
I saw the eyes
Long after it was too late.

When life is battered around
Forced to an exit unconsciously
Reverently seeking escape
Life is the first to taste death
When death is on the way.

Evil stomps at life
Crushing all that is comfortable
Beneath the heel of black boots
Reminding you of your insignificance in this world.

Dark and purple eats my body
As swollen impairs my joints
My mind has visited death today
my soul torn between the light and darkness.
Pain dictating which way to reach.

Life is gone from a body that still lives
As thoughts have left a broken frenzied mind
Hiding from the rest of reality
Evil lurking close behind.
