Witnessing a Jumper
Falling from a tall building,
Falling numerous stories to the ground below,
Hard concrete to greet him,
Sharing a blood splatter with those below.
Screams all about,
Crying people franticly trying to wipe his body from their coat
sleeves.
People crying out to God as they often do, "oh my God", spilled from
strange lips.
His life now a big spot on the ground,
Wet and sticky, smelling like blood does.
Amazing how ones fall affects many,
Further disillusioning the disillusioned thugs walking the darkened
streets.
One sick soul leaning against a building across the street, contributes
to the chaos by lending the clap of dirty hands and a dirty smile with
rotted teeth his only identity.
"Ok folks the shows over", nothing more to see, cops have no sense of
humor when it comes to the vividness of life especially when it ends on
their beat.
Traumatized bad guys, what a sight to see, running about wiping someone
else's decision from their sleeves.
The remainder of one life left for the street sweeper,
A spot in the sidewalk,
Forgotten by those who saw it on T.V ten minutes later,
Nightmares invited for a lifetime for those that were there.
While the clapping man cheered it on,
Envious of a completed deed,
For if fear of heights had not hindered him,
He would have taken the trip years ago.
He turned up the bottle, and drank one for the man.
