It was a cat! As Leslie slammed the door, she heard childish giggling coming from around the corner. "Adam, Tyler!" she screamed out," did you do this?" The boys emerged from around the corner now laughing frantically.
"The babysitter usually doesn't get that scared," Tyler said as he was high fiving Adam. The boys then quickly darted downstairs.
"Leslie what have you gotten yourself into this time?" Leslie went downstairs to confront the boys but when she got to the living room and saw them smiling she just couldn't do it. "They're just boys being boys," she told herself and then walked in the room laughing. "Well, you really got me that time guys."
"You're not mad?" Adam asked quietly. "Usually the babysitters get really mad.”
"No I'm not," Leslie said cheerfully. "It was pretty funny." The boys looked at Amy and smiled. She felt like they really liked her now and maybe, just maybe, the Johnsons' would have her over to babysit again. She then sat back down on the couch to finish the episode she was watching before the whole 'cat incident'. When the show was over the boys started to complain that they were hungry so Leslie decided to order a pizza. "When the pizza gets here we'll order a movie if you want to boys." The boys cheered and started naming off all the movies they wanted to see. They all finally agreed on "Convenience Store 3". It was based on a gas station in the middle of nowhere that is selling drugs and trying to avoid suspicion from the cops. Leslie heard the door bell and excitedly ran to get the pizza. It was only fifteen dollars so she gave the other five dollars to the pizza boy as a tip seeing as how long of a drive it was to the house. They then sat down to watch the movie. They watched the movie and ate pizza for nearly two hours until the movie was over. “That movie was awesome!” screamed Adam and Tyler together.
“You’re telling me!” Leslie yelled back. “Well, I’m sorry boys, but it looks like it’s time for bed. I wouldn’t want your parents to come home and find us all up past your bed time.”
“That’s true,” said Tyler happily. “We definitely want you to come back don’t we Adam?”
“We sure do!”
Leslie couldn’t help but smile as the boys walked away telling her goodnight and that they couldn’t wait to see her again. She sat down on the couch and began flipping through the channels trying to find something decent to watch. She began thinking about the cat and how terrified she was. She then realized that there was still much of the house that she left unexplored. She decided to get up and have a better look around. She left the kitchen and made her way to the stairs from earlier. She went up the stairs much more confidently than before, seeing as she had nothing to be afraid of this time. She went down the hall to the brown, worn door and opened it. It was very dark and smelled musty in the room. All there was inside the room was a small table and a large flight of stairs. She was frightened now. She decided to just go for it, so she turned the light on her cell phone on and took her first step up the steep stairs. They seemed to go on forever and when she finally got to the top she was greeted by another brown, heavily worn door. When she grabbed the knob it was as cold as ice. She quickly pulled her hand back and stared at the door. “Why is this door knob so cold? It really doesn’t make since,” she said to herself in a hushed tone. She then decided that it was more than likely nothing so she grabbed it and pushed the large wooden door open. Inside was a large sitting area with a fireplace, two chairs, a table, and bookshelves on every wall of the room. ”This is awesome!” Leslie exclaimed to herself. “I wonder why they don’t have these doors painted? I would want people to notice this place.” She then began looking around the room. She looked through all the books and couldn’t help but notice they were all extremely dusty, as were the chairs and table. The Johnsons’ apparently haven’t been up here in quite a while. As she was looking through all of the books she saw one that stood out from all of the others. It was leather bound and beat up looking. She pulled it out from the shelf. “The Diary of Emily Taylor” “Woah, I bet this little girl lived here.” Leslie then began to open the book, but a strange feeling floated over her. She almost felt as if she shouldn’t do it. After all, it was someone’s diary, but if she hadn’t done anything else when she got a strange feeling she wouldn’t have found this awesome room, so she opened it up anyway and began reading.
Leslie opened the journal and saw a young girls name written in cursive. It read “Elizabeth Barlow” “This must be her journal,” Leslie thought to herself.

Another good one! Needs a bit of TLC but then those are the 'hard yards' that none of us like doing. This is worth the effort if you're prepared to put it in.
