Au Revoir Achilles Heel

Goodbye, my love
It’s been a blast.
Not what I expected at all.
Did I say that?
Impolite!
Pupils busily exploding.
My Achilles Heel
Kick up dust,
No intentions of gaining
Affections, or beg butterfly wings
Of your caressing fingertips
Stroking trembling skin,
Nor lips taunting raised buds bursting
Bending to your will as you
Pull on me
Beg? I'm already on my knees.
My Achilles Heel
Set me free with haste
Don’t chase me to dawn
Riding hands of the clock
To catch that which
I cannot have or hold.
So gather, gather, gather
My soul together lying in
Splintered disabled pieces,
Whispering memories to chain me,
Not fair. Free me, release me,
Untie bleeding torn heel, I grow tired,
Allow me to leave, pack my heart,
Open our stifling door to step out
Where light will reflect shining scar,
Of the great war we called love.
My Achilles Heel
You know I cry
As you pull on me.
