Clean Soul

She wore a smile
Like a pretty dress
Sunflowers in her hair
As she struggled through days
Loss of a son
Loss of a man
Did not strip her of hope
Somewhere in the world
Was someone she could call
Her own.
She wore perfume
Disguising familiar gloom
Slipped between safer sheets
Gathering breasts to quivering skin
Grasping to feel loves link
Beating.
As night died,
So surfaced lies, hidden agenda’s
As she gently closed her eyes
Tight
Sighing
Here we go again
As lovers packed, left,
With each tear shed
She created a new flower bed .
She wore heels to gain height
In a world of petty fights
While tears coursed sweet face
She shred all bitterness
Becoming out of place
With her clean soul
Arms spread wide for all.
Turning, twisting
Through wide life of cold corridors
While they stole little parts
Aware some things are too good to last.
Better learn the rules
Hard and fast.
Is the world watching?
Watching you spinning
Daring you to move
Stamp your feet, disapprove!
No more weeping, pleading
No more rayless shadows
Or tipsy ghosts speaking
No more blunt dissection of heart
Prising out all your stored love.
No, clean soul
Dry beautiful eyes
Now is your time
To reach deep inside
Find happiness buried
Find peace, and treasure
Every breath you take
On Gods green land
For that was always his plan
For you my child.
I love you Eva.
