Gagged

One eye open, one shut
No hero’s in this sin city
Swinging through grey night.
Hidden inside torment
Thoughts not deprived of revenge.
All bets are off.
Can’t arrest a mind bent
By twisted flesh of another.
Gagged in life
Not in thought
No violence intended
Abhor all that stuff,
Shaking clouds furiously
As sun steals waking warmth.
Contemplate, wrath is mine
Taste of spell spinning sweet, divine.
Watching clips of movie reel
Slow in action, savour savagery
Shut both eyes, squeeze to see
Upon mind screen running
Jumping with ferocious images
Of me
Hand on aging neck
Gripped, power of ten men
Snatch, wrap fingers into hair
Yank, we see eye to eye
I smile. No need for why.
Whip with blow to blow
Head swinging through the air
Crashing through lying wall,
Not a moments regret, no tears to fall,
As force shatters bones, lash, thrash
Until image crumples to be no more
But dust
Blown out on gentle breeze
Scattered under cars, across streets,
In all directions away as if
Gone
From my waking days
Never to have existed,
No memory of that face
Simply dust
That never mattered.
Gagged by restraints of conscience
Upbringing, abiding laws
But you can't gag
My thoughts.
