Is Someone Laughing?

And so it begins
There you are
This tiny little thing,
Struggle to survive
From egg to child,
Nature dictates, eat, sleep,
Burp, grin and shit,
Be polite, mind your manners,
Educate intricate spongy mind,
Conformed social structure,
We can’t define,
Read, divide, multiply,
Learn to live a decent life,
Never tell lies, or they’ll know,
Keep order, tidy your room,
Don’t answer back or…..
Well………never-mind.
All those boys you steer
Clear from, mummy said,
“Their only after one thing”
Kissing, groping, licking,
Before she got home,
But, good girl, kept her
Knickers firmly on………..
Employed, work, pay rent,
Government dictates you will bend,
Develop, stretch, understand, and yet,
Still lost in world of wars, political,
Or yours.
Attend church, pray, for sins of today,
Lay flowers for lost souls,
Vows we take, love, honour and cherish,
Build, build, build at life’s fast pace,
Don’t rock foundations, built on sand,
Birth, nurture, birth, nurture, return to
School days, educate apple of your eye.
Create, while foundations shake.
Divorce. Separate. All ends in hate.
Rock bottom, is not at the bottom
Of a bottle, or snorting coke,
No, it’s when you realise your totally alone,
Crashing through life, strife, fight, cry,
Until finally, sense a future life.
Speed ahead, what’s the rush?
Just looking for someone to love,
He came, saw, liked and loved,
She dropped her safety guard,
Saw his chance, reached right in,
No chance of deflecting bullets
That ripped open the heart,
He left, she bled, each day questioning,
Humanity, compassion, and the rest,
For is this what God meant,
When he talked of sacrifice?
Why does it feel someone is laughing?
I ask you, do we ever stop learning
Life lessons, or are we doomed
Right from the very start?
