Talking To One

I am me
I am I
Who is me?
I am
And me I
I am who?
I am me
Who am I?
I am myself
Who?
Me
I am me, myself, mine,
All that is in me,
Resides, sometimes hides,
Pain, laughter, even
Emptiness, sins of world
Visit frequently, tangling,
Hurting, innocence stained
By ghosts, those who choose
To feed, fester, seep, into dark
Abysses, twisting in sleep, avoiding
Reality, cuts deep, so I bleed,
Question life, God, universe,
Clinging onto stars of brightness,
Extinguished in deceit, betrayal
Of human nature, costs, such is my pain,
The price seems high,
Forgive me, if I stumble and fall today,
Faith in God is rocking
Humanity departed, take off your masks
I’m close to blind,
Screaming, maybe we all hide, disguise,
Living a whimsical lie,
Sun sets, sun rises, never fails, time
Constant, moving through years,
Crammed thoughts age, grow weary when grey.
To my grave I take, my life tattooed,
Upon crisp skin, tears dried, immune from pain,
But, you will see me,
Swinging in freedom, legs out-stretched, hair
Flying, as I climb higher, soaring to stars,
Eyes gleaming in mirthful wonderment, looking below,
Reaching for restored skies of mine, I fly,
Intact, for I am me.
I am.
Me.
Myself
I
