Undone

Untie inside the sweetest gift, unfold, bare, strip. Lay open all
Concealed on offer, to caress in your palm, tread carefully for this is
My heart.
Nurture and feed, for I grow, as tall as a delicate sunflower anchored
To earth, bearing delicious fruit, sweet you gorge. Opening up, ripe
And intensely rich, you settled in and I had love.
Dense thoughts gather. Crushing dilemma rearing ugly head.
Defend is all I can do. Defection bleeds deep. Swallow bitterness of
Adam, as did Eve. Knocking on heavens gate, deny me paradise, it
Was never real at all.
Obliterate, eradicate feelings in this useless heart of mine. Hurling
Through destructive whirlwind, spinning from lack of you. Flood
Earth in tears, cleanse soiled growth, plant new seeds of memory,
Without you.
Nonsensical chatter, back and forth, in my dreams I escape into prisms
Exquisitely transported in new hope glory, birds fly in freedom to
Settle where warm. Sunflower seeds are blessedly born.
Enormity of past. Exit. I must depart. I tire of battle and the storm.
To heal all that has been undone by ghosts of today, it is the laughter
Of tomorrow I crave.
Put back the treasure, tie up the gift, I offered you a non refundable
Receipt. Lie it deep in my pocket, to remain, and keep.
For what is done, cannot be undone. But I shall not cease to breathe.
