THE BALLARD OF THE SHOWER CUBICLE
Down at the pool something is brewing
The ladies had exercised and now they were queuing
For the showers this time, of which there are four
But a problem arises with a cubicle door.
Oh dear, what can the matter be
Stuck in the shower for what seems like eternity.
The door lock is stuck; it won't turn at all
A lady's inside, we gave out a call.
'Someone will come, of that we are sure
And they'll fix this problem with the cubicle door.'
Chorus
A little while later a lifeguard came in,
She looked at the lock and the door and the hinge,
But gave up and said, 'I'll get someone who
Will have some knowledge and will know what to do.'
Chorus
We talked through the door to the lady in despair
She said she felt calm for she knew we were there.
Another guard came in and she looked and said, 'No,
We need someone else; I won't be a mo'.
Chorus
By this time our numbers had thinned
Most ladies had dressed, had coiffured and preened
So I called through the door, 'are you alright now?'
'Yes,' she replied 'I'm wrapped up in my towel.'
Chorus
A man came in. I thought that was rude,
We could have been standing around in the nude,
But he had his back to us few that remained
And soon had the lock released and tamed.
Chorus
When Ann came out eventually
Shw saw just Kathleen, Sara and me
We were all that remained to see she was well
(And to make sure that we had a story to tell).
