To the Girl with an awkward Grace
and melancholy smile.
Who’s shards of sunlight
steal into my room.
Filling it with sweetness, lust and bile.
To the Girl with translucent eyes
that softly scream in silent lament.
Who’s heavy heart
pulls her from me.
A subconscious sin from which I can’t repent.
To the Girl with an untarnished beauty
eternally lost in the ether of thought.
Who’s autumn forecast
I’m forever prepared
still chokes the wind from me, a slackened rope pulled taut.
As the numbness of tomorrow seeps slowly into today,
moments now memories, wilted beyond bloom.
I sit and wait
for the Girl with an awkward grace
to steal softly back into my room
