LA AMISTAD

Happy as can be
backs turned away from the enemy
captured by fishing nets
taken from their homes and families
chained at the hands feet and neck
afriad for life
not sure what is going on
or where they are being taken
beaten tortured and thrown overboard
when there isnt enough food
They rebeled fought for their life
took over the boat
but once again catputred as the enemy
people are afraid of them
because thier skin is black
They call them murderers-
selfish -decitful people
when in all actuality
they are kind gentle loving-
regular people
who fought for their life to be free
At the end they got their freedom
and returned to the great homeland
only to be crushed again
their land destroyed-
their families gone
all the hope their will to go on
gone with the wind
for these honorable people
are a chapter in history.
