Countryside

Rich colours in a patchwork quilt,
Stretch as far as the eye can see.
Lily pads converse, friendships built,
topped with frogs, singing just for me.
While the stream chatters to the sky
busy again with the days tasks
leaps and dances and rushes by.
The birds call to each other, hark
listen to them, a gentle art
soft to the ear. Bee's hunt nectar
inspect flowers down to their heart
so small but what fast collectors.
The grass beneath me so springy.
The flies around me. Go away!
My skin feels hot and so clingy.
What a peaceful lovely day.
The soft breeze whispers in my hair.
The stream cools off my heated feet.
The clear crisp tase of country air,
so tasteless yet so very sweet
resembles sucking cubes of ice.
The country scents of cow manure
tease my nose the smell does entice
nicer smells my nose to allure
like the sunflowers that dancing
gracefully in the summer breeze,
emit a scent so enhancing
that my nose can't help but be pleased.
I love the country before me
it's here that my heart does belong
the countries in my heart you see
and i'll live here before too long.
