The Nimmen woke early on the 31st of February to there normal routine of hair and tooth combing. These little treasures headed out in packs to help with the morning pick up. Green of hair and blue of tooth the Nimmen drove in a rush on their blue book of song and dance to the street corner where the govoner would be waiting to dispense ideas and jobs for the day. Two neat little cues formed, one cue of the Nimmen had ½ size banjos slung across there backs, the other, slightly larger que where naked except for their cause green hair that covered them tip to top. Cue one (with banjo) were sent to help with rubbish relocation in the inner city. The second and slightly more naked line was sent out to fill the minds of the sleeping with thoughts of joy and wonderment. The banjo sporting Nimmen headed of to play joyful tunes to the dustbin men on there early rounds round the city. For a happy bin man is a Nimmen working well. Freely they laughed and played jolly jigs in the key of happiness so people like you and me would have a clean road unobstructed in the mornings.
Early after noon the nimmen collected their minds together for a light lunch and decided all was good with their work, and given the chance a small increase in the weekly pay system would not be a bad thing. Discussions began with master in charge of the joyful day that is known as pay day. To there surprise they were not even meant to be paid with real money but with the stamps of days gone by. A small nimmen spoke up and all listened to his words as they floated through the sky to the ears on the side of there heads. The words once rearranged in to reality, spoke of great reshaping of the rubbish collecting processes, most laughed and ran a mock with chicken feet but eventually put them down and headed of to strike. Shortly after the strike finished in a puddle of rain water that had gathered in a corner of the street to get out of the sky. In this puddle the Nimmen found, to there delight, a ration card from 1944, two belt clips and copy of the argos catalogue from the early80s. To everyone's surprise it had a pull out copy of Elisabeth Dukes jewellery section.
With the permission of the puddle, who was on his way back up to the sky to make friends with the air, they took their bounty to the head of joy and pay. So a life times worth of back pay in argos vouchers was decided upon, Happy joy filled the streets as the Nimmen headed off to play with action men and scarves made of shrubbery.
