I am fed up with Teen Angst poetry
When people 'splash their souls'
On paper for all to see.
I am fed up with trying to get and A* grade
When all I really want to do
Is read Emily Dickinson in the shade.
I am fed up with trying to look cool
When really I feel that everyone else
Is acting like a fool.
I am fed up with people parading their riches
Just 'cause they've got more money
And I know they're all just bitches.
I am fed up with people judging me
On the basis of my wealth and looks
Why can't they examine my personality?
I am fed up with being patronised
Just 'cause I'm 30 years younger
Doesn't mean I'm dumb, I'm afraid.
I am fed up with people forcing rhyme
'Barn' and 'Gone' just don't go
It really should be made a crime.
I am fed up with being told what to do
I'm 16, not an idiot
Don't tell me you haven't felt this too.
I'm fed up with going it alone
And when I ask for a little help
I'm always told not to moan.
I am fed with the taxes we have to pay
For bad hospitals and schools
Why don't the younger generation get a say?
I am fed up with people whinging about money
I know a simple solution
Just give it all to me.
I am fed up with finding people contradictory
Everywhere I look - especially me.
