Today was a nothing day

No super hero's saved the day,
No super villains got away.
No jilted lovers sang the blues,
at six and ten there was no news.
it was a nothing day.

Fate stayed home and had late tea.
The sun set early, quietly.
The night was slow to take its place.
The stars stayed in, in outer space.

The Moon looked thin lipped, then was gone,
The dark stayed up to soldier on
The seconds coped as best they could.
hours slowed down and then stood,

Dreams where reruns and repeats,
shadows boycotted the streets.
Having no reason to stay,
night time stretched,
then crept
away.
