Frosted breath of cold but much needed words. Uncomfortable, undermining words that stab into the air. Harsh and unyielding, tampering with the normal. Every moment was for this, every smile, every small intake of breath, every moan, every gasp, every tighten and release and it all ended with this. You have broken away from me. I whisper your name into the night but you have gone. I think of you lying next to me talking of nothing. Now nothing lies ahead. I dream of you, I live for you, my whole being it aches, it yearns for you. Remember why we are doing this and please be strong, but still the blackness creeps in. It’s too deep, too deep now. It drives every inch of me every hair on my body, every breath in my lungs, every particle of me. Paralysing my nerves, carving shapes in my skin. Come back, come back to me. Be brave, Be young, Yearn for me, live and breathe me, desire me, like I do for you.
You are standing in the sun, my image reflected in your pupils. So close to me now. You are everything. The frost melts slowly from the ground and soon grass will show
again. Small blades will prickle up fresh between my cold scared toes. The numbness will subside and I will breathe again.
