Day return
Must I in this day,
Return from Brighton?
Sidling along the seafront,
Hoping London won't notice I'm gone,
But there is not enough time,
To touch sand or see sea,
Or promenade like Victorians,
So I traipse to the train,
From a city by the briny,
To one cloked in congestion air,
But a smile tells,
I have taken the seaside cure.
