the one you meet will

never be the one that you know again---

for s/he will change right before your very

eyes &

just as the lighting of a candle

seems bright enough to illuminate the room,

to open up all the facets of one’s life they might have thought to be

closed forever,

the candle melts---

each hour the height of the candle shortens,

each hour just as everyday that you know this person,

change inevitably comes &

regardless of where you may be at when you realize

that they are no longer the person that

you once knew,

you can never really regain that initial wonder,

that initial interest,

that initial

spark.
