two liars

once there were two liars
sitting across from each other in a
space that neither added to the
conversation which they’d been having,
or took away from it---
they’d been going on for a while &
when the pattern of
deceiving verbal ping-pong
broke, one of them
told the other that they’d been
lying the whole time,
which led the other to believe
that this was also a lie &
that there was truth buried,
probably in every statement
that had been made prior &
it led him/herself to instantly
panic, wondering inside that if
this was the case for the liar which
had come forward, just how much of
the substance of these lies had even
been known? just how much of
anything said by them had been known
by them in the very saying, to be
lies themselves &
to make matters worse, when the
mirror inside the panicking liar’s
mind was turned towards their own
face, they wondered if
any truths which they’d been trying so
hard to conceal, had somehow seeped
out in between all those statements
which they considered to be lies &
while time had stopped during this
event which to the non-panicking liar
seemed to last only as long as a hiccup,
the panicking liar found themselves to be
hating the act of lying more than
all the words that had been puked out
in that room between them,
that these utterances had meant nothing
without the want, without
the motive to do so.
