'Si'doon. Gie me peace'
Screeched the moron on our bus
Those words echo in my head
This wee lad should be in bed
Scarred face, bitter
Children scatter
'C'mere, you's. Right noo'
Jumping beans, haven't a clue
Their behaviour make folk glare
'dad' texting, unaware
Manky feet upon the seats
Hand the bairn another sweet
Chips are dropped, with drippy sauce
I've had enough, l'm getting off

You encapsulate the so common
You encapsulate the so common scene so neatly. So sad. Think some parents switch off, feeling if we do nothing, no-one can accuse us of being a severe parent, so no boundaries given, and kids ignored, lack love both positive and correcting - which they recognise as being bound up with positive love. (But then the parents can end up losing their tempers, as things get more out of hand) Poor kids. Rhiannon

Such a familiar scene.
Such a familiar scene. Neglect by text or as Rhiannon says, poor boundaries.
