Beynd the Veil

beyond the veil, purple, wrinkled gilded veil
in the deepest reaches of the mind
one cannot conjure the images there

the mind is blind, the eyes strain
and the heart is keen to realize that there
lies all happiness, beyond the veil

unreachable, unknowable yet it speaks
in mysteries and proverbs to tell us
that there is more, beyond the veil

no price to be paid, nor ransom sent
to persuade the powers to relent
only the chosen can see, beyond the veil
