Death is my only friend.

As I rounded the darkened corner I tasted the metallic flavor of
blood as if it was an ice cream I was licking. His eyes met mine. I
knew this was it. I stared into two blackened tunnels, no longer sure
if I was wearing anything. The distinct smell of beer met my nose as I
whispered a prayer. I could only hope of a miracle! The silver tip of
the bloodstained rapier hit my chest. As I fell to the floor my hand
touched my dead husband's rigid body. No longer could I hold it away.
Then appeared pain, his malice pricking at my stomach. His pointed nose
poking the insides of my lungs. A smoke screen clouded my eyes, my
drunk brother-in-law laughing his girlfriend cowered in the shadows of
the alley. Why hadn't she helped? I drew my final breath.
