DARK THOUGHTS

A wish, a prayer, for you my love,
I send to him our god above.
And hope that he will hear my plea,
And bring my true love back to me.

But this I know is just a dream,
No chance our love so it would seem.
And though I pray both night and day,
My shattered dreams before me lay.

When eyes so deep no longer see,
They truly will belong to me.
When lips so full no longer kiss,
They will be mine alone to miss.

When hands once warm have turned so cold,
No one but I will wish to hold.
When a heart so false can beat no more,
It will be mine for evermore.

I care not if my life be through,
I only wish to be with you.
And hell may wait when I am done,
To right a wrong, from seven, just one.
