In this world we are expected to expect that we will not get what we want, but that we will sit down and take what we are handed. This would work nicely, but as I see it not everyone is treated this way. Some people can stand up and ask for whatever else their sheltered hearts desire, and the authorities, belonging to them, comply. Others are handed unfair portions or nothing at all. Some will stand up, only to be laughed at and fall. It is my dream that one of these days we will all be seen as equals and that every boy, girl, or in-between gets to live their very own dream as they were promised in the race of humanity before they were even a thought in their grandmother's head. I am off-topic, but so on the spot; and please, take for consideration the lack of my years and the tears that I have shed in my self esteem or lack-there-of, longing for someone to tell me that I matter more than what my appearances are worth. That I matter more than the size of my breasts or the shape of my face or my humble manner. Waiting for a day when someone will compliment my personality instead of calling me "cute" or saying "you look nice" or "I like your dress". Maybe one day society will understand me and all my insecurities and will stand lovingly at my side with a cure in a pill that I can take and feel amazing without the law or the risks of it all drowning out my joy. Maybe one day I'll feel safe in this body and this will be a woman's world where men roam with their keys in hand at night. But that would be no better, just different in the same way that the fact that I am a woman makes me feel afraid.
