D Equinox

Moving towards September and the re-start of work is always stressful
for me. Each year I have usually spent too much on retail therapy and
holidays and am fearful that the work will not come in to pay the
bills. (I am self-employed) This year we have invested in the house and
so the summer has been a tiring round of decorating, and my Autumn
schedule is far too light for my liking. I manage to keep cheerful
during the day but in the night my sleep in like swimming in shark
filled waters where everything has a negative spin....
"Stress comes from experiencing the turning of the spiral of time
without accepting that this is what is happening to you. Imagine you
are on a fairground ride and the machine starts to move. At first you
have your own physical resistance and if you maintain that resistance
you will not enjoy the ride. The ride becomes enjoyable when you find a
way of turning into the flow and relaxing into the sensation.
It is the same with the change of energies, but there is no switch, no
signal and the movement is slow. It is like needing to find your sea
legs on a smooth pond.
As we move towards the Autumn Equinox there are significant shifts in
the energies that surround the Earth and then there are the dips and
swells caused by the activity of mankind.
You are experiencing those on a subtle level and you are feeling
disorientated and scared, as if the ground is moving beneath you.
Metaphorically it is, at the moment, but the shift will be positive and
familiar territory will appear once more.
This is the lesson of trust, accepting disorientation from time to time
and allowing the energies to settle. In a way it is part of the lesson
of humility - how can you be part of the Earth and connected to spirit
without being subject to it's fluctuations and cleansings?
Make no mistake these changes are physical, mental and emotional but
they are also essential to well being in the same ways shedding old
skin allows the new to shine through."
This all brings to mind a favourite quote from Thomas Crum: 'Instead of
seeing the rug being pulled from under us, we can learn to dance on the
shifting carpet.'
