Yesterday was a difficult day. Physical pain and a feeling of 'cannot
be bothered' filled the day. It was strangely encouraging to hear that
other friends and family are experiencing some of the same feelings.
Certainly my partner is waiting for the leaves to fall and the rain to
come to wash away the pain and difficulty of the last six
months....
"Discontent swirls around you. Sapping your energy and your drive.
Nothing seems worth the effort. No one seems to want what you have to
offer. Noise, pollution, demands all weigh heavily on your
shoulders.
Do you not have enough food to eat? Do you not have a beautiful home?
Do you not have friends you can call? Do you not have a loving
family?
Your soul has chosen a Western path. One that brings certain burdens
and tribulations. But you are not fighting for your daily existence.
You are not in fear of your life. You are not separated in an alien
culture. You are not being asked to disown your friends and
neighbours.
Sometimes it is hard to maintain a perspective on your life. It is easy
to explain the difficulties and the dissatisfactions. It is easy to
loose sight of the ease with which your existence is maintained. To
loose sight of the resources you and yours consume on a daily
basis.
Abundance is one of the keys to spirituality, so do not hear a
judgement. Work to achieve a balance between giving and receiving,
especially when times are tough. Even in the darkest moments what you
give, you will receive, multiplied. Sharing one candle can light a
cathedral, two a community and six a whole city."
