K Making more of life

Today feels like the start of a new year. But as I approach yet another
year I wake up to the fact that things have changed for me, at least
inside me. The same old, same old seems really uninviting and
unrewarding and yet I find myself hoping that I will have a meditation
worthy of writing up and posting on ABCtales. It does not matter
whether the meditations are striking a cord out there or not, what I
realise is that they have changed my approach to life....
"If you were to write the story of your life what would it say? You
were born, you were a sister and a daughter, a worker and a wife, a
mother and a mediator. You love dogs and are loyal to your friends. You
will become a mother-in-law and a grandmother and then you will
die.
Each role individual and important, Each role representing the nucleus
of a pattern of energy which emanates out from you. Each representing
the give and take of life, the expectations of others.
Consider for a moment how different it has been engaging first with
crystals and then with spirit. No expectations just exploration. More
about receiving than giving. Alert to an energy that surrounds you,
enfolds you and sustains you.
Yet how difficult it is to accept such unconditional and attentive
love. To believe that another energy separate from yourself can provide
such a sustaining and uplifting focus to your life.
At the end of the day what you have had to confront is your capacity to
believe in something intangible, infinite and benign and
powerful.
The rhetoric of belief brokers no response in the sphere of spirit.
Spirit responds to your heart and it's capacity to surrender to
universal love, to accept and seek a connection to the source. It is
that that has made a difference to your life. Has added a dimension to
your life story: being, not doing. Seeking, not finding. Embracing
existence in all it's complexity: learning to trust as much in the
water as in the feel of the sea bed beneath your feet."
